Pedestrians vs. the roads of Almaty

People cross the street halfway at a time unless it's a crosswalk. You basically watch for a spot between cars and then run/walk to the middle of the road and then wait for a spot between cars on the other side to cross the street. So you are standing in the middle of a busy street with cars woozing by you on each side! Sounds crazy but nothing you can't get used to if you live here for a week or two ;)
